GUARDIAN MEDIA LIMITED AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES ANNUAL REPORT 2020 13Although 2020, the year of COVID-19 Pandemic was very challenging, Guardian Neediest Cases Fund was able to make a difference in the lives of 675 needy families throughout Trinidad and Tobago. The fund continued with its medical, financial, disaster and book grants to many, whilst the annual Christmas Grant was given to 563 recipients. In the month of May 2020 when our country was under national lockdown, families were left stranded because they could not leave their homes as they would normally choose too. The Guardian Neediest Cases Fund stepped in and provided 100 food hampers to needy families via the assistance of Medical Social Workers and other NGO representatives who were the %u2018essential workers%u2019. The Board of Trustees would like to thank all the donors to the fund for helping us to make this assistance possible. A small amount can truly make a big difference.CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
