ANNUAL REPORT 2024 25In 2024, the Guardian Neediest Cases Fund, the oldest registered charity in Trinidad and Tobago, celebrated the remarkable milestone of its 90th anniversary. This significant occasion was not just a celebration of our past, but a testament to the countless lives positively affected by the generosity of our supporters.Unfortunately, because of the many challenges of the post COVID-19 era, the number of persons falling under the umbrella of %u201cthe neediest%u201d in our country seems to have increased in 2024, based on the demands being made for assistance. Despite this, we made some strides in increasing aid to those who need the most help and in so doing we believe that we are assisting in the strengthening of our community. We have provided grants that have assisted over 498 families. These grants were for food (primarily at Christmas), medical care, house repairs and schoolbooks. These families were referred to us by medical social workers and some NGOs across the country. The generous contributions from various sources, (particularly from one corporate sponsor and the ANSA McAL Foundation) have enabled us to do this. It is inspiring to witness the tangible difference we are making, and it serves as a powerful reminder of the collective impact we can achieve.Looking ahead, the Guardian Neediest Cases Fund remains dedicated to our mission and is excited about new opportunities to expand our reach and deepen our impact. The continued support of all, including members of the public, is vital as we navigate the road ahead. The Board of Trustees extends a heartfelt %u2018THANK YOU%u2019 to all organizations and persons who assisted Guardian Neediest Cases Fund in achieving our goals in 2024 and we look forward to greater collaboration in 2025 and beyond.Together we can create lasting change
