ANNUAL REPORT 2024 63GUARDIAN MEDIA LIMITED AND ITS SUBSIDIARIESSTATEMENT OF MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES (SOMR)Management is responsible for the following;%u2022 Preparing and fairly presenting the accompanying consolidated financial statements of Guardian Media Limited and its subsidiaries (%u201cthe Group%u201d) which comprise the consolidated statement of financial position as at 31 December 2024, and the consolidated statement of comprehensive loss, consolidated statement of changes in equity and the consolidated statement of cash flows for the year then ended, and notes to the consolidated financial statements including material accounting policy information; %u2022 Ensuring that the company keeps proper accounting records; %u2022 Selecting appropriate accounting policies and applying them in a consistent manner; %u2022 Implementing, monitoring and evaluating the system of internal control that assures security of the Group%u2019s assets, detection/prevention of fraud, and the achievement of Group operational efficiencies; %u2022 Ensuring that the system of internal control operated effectively during the reporting period;%u2022 Producing reliable financial reporting that comply with laws and regulations, including the Companies Act; and %u2022 Using reasonable and prudent judgement in the determination of estimates. In preparing these audited consolidated financial statements, management utilised IFRS Accounting Standards adopted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago. Where IFRS Accounting Standards presented alternative accounting treatments, management chose those considered most appropriate in the circumstances.Nothing has come to the attention of management to indicate that the Group will not remain a going concern for the next twelve months from the reporting date; or up to the date the accompanying consolidated financial statements have been authorised for issue, if later.
